Vin Diesel May Take Pay Cut In Order To Star In 'Riddick 3'

Vin Diesel As Riddick
The film series that brought us the character of Riddick and subsequently went on to become a successful gaming franchise, began with Pitch Black in 2000 and continued with The Chronicles Of Riddick in 2004, two films I personally didn't particularly enjoy. Well now, seven years later, a third installment to the Riddick franchise may well be on its way.

Vin Diesel, the actor who plays Riddick, revealed on Facebook that he'd met with director David Twohy and that there was no reason why the film couldn't start shooting in the summer. News also came to light that the third installment would be more geared towards an adult audience after the second film was criticised for being watered down, revealed Total Film.

Vin Diesel wrote: “[Twohy] the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news,”. “We can start filming this summer. However, there is a catch… in order for us to make a true R rated film, I must work for scale upfront.

“Money is always second to art… integrity and spirit… but the real issue is deeper. Can I suspend my life, to momentarily venture to that dark place… called Riddick.

Apparently Riddick 3 will go back to the basics of what made Pitch Black so much better than its sequel.

Would you be excited about a Riddick 3? Or has the franchise run its course?

Didn't care for Chronicles, loved Pitch Black .. I'm not too sure I want to see this especially with the fact that the sequel already harmed the first one. Keep on making the games though!

Couldn't agree more. Think they tried to make The Chronicles too comercial whereas Pitch Black was genuine. Don't think they can turn it around.
