Hailee Steinfeld Will Lead Indie Version Of 'Romeo & Juliet'

Fourteen year old Oscar nominee (True Grit) Hailee Steinfeld seems to have bagged herself another role, this time in an indie adaptation of 'Romeo & Juliet' revealed THR. Nothing is confirmed yet but it looks likely the young star will be cast as Juliet in the adaptation which will be directed by Carlo Carlie and to which a script has already been written by Julian Fellowes, writer of 'Gosford Park'. The movie which has a reported $15 million budget will begin shooting in Italy later on in the spring.

The script penned by Fellowes is said to be an Indie version of the Shakespeare original. I would expect from this news a largely young cast and possibly some modern references. I'm not sure whether it will be set in modern times or not but I'm hoping it will be. That would surely bring in a mainly young crowd and will appeal to lovers of all things indie. What's your opinion on the possibility of an indie version of the classic story?

I got lots of followers by writing good content, consistently, and writing thoughtful comments, and not plastering my URL over other people's blogs. That just pisses everyone off.
