'Salt 2' Begins To Be Thought Out

Jolie In Salt
After the success of the 2010 film Salt ($300m worldwide), with Angelina Jolie, it was always likely that a sequel would be on the cards. However, the news that a sequel is already being worked on may come as a surprise. Sony has begun work on the sequel, instructing Salt's writer Kurt Wimmer to pen a script for the sequel.

Deadline has revealed the news that Angelina Jolie is keen to return for a possible sequel. However Salt 2 will not have original director Phillip Noyce at its helm and so it will be interesting to see if a new direction is taken. With Wimmer on board again it should bear similarities however and the huge action scenes are sure to reappear. The makers will surely be hoping for better reviews this time round though.

Angelina Jolie is said to be reprising her role as CIA agent Evelyn Salt. The reason a Wanted sequel looks unlikely was due to Jolie not being interested but she certainly seems determined for Salt 2 to happen. I
should think it will be a while before any concrete details of the project come to light so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Is there any need for a Salt 2? Will it be better than the first one?
