Kevin Costner Says No To Django Unchained

Kevin Costner
Quentin Tarantino's new slave western film Django Unchained hasn't failed to excite the movie world so far. One reason for this was the proposed cast that Tarantino was planning on bringing together which included Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson and Jamie Foxx. However, one of the biggest names reportedly attached to the film, Kevin Costner, has followed the example of Will Smith by dropping out of the project, reports IndieWire.

Kevin Costner was rumoured to be playing Ace Woody, a member of Calvin Candie's (Leonardo DiCaprio) crew. However, Costner will now play no part in the film, giving the reason of 'scheduling conflicts'. Costner is already working on a TV movie entitled The Hatfields & The McCoys for the History Channel and will soon be appearing in Zack Snyder's Superman film Man Of Steel.

The search is now on for Quentin Tarantino to find a new Ace. Rumours have already circulated that

Amy Adams Bags Lois Lane Role In 'Superman: Man Of Steel'

Amy Adams has become the latest addition to Zack Snyder's 'Superman' revival as she bagged the role of leading lady Lois Lane. This comes amidst news that Viggo Mortensen may be up for the part of evil villain General Zod and that Kevin Costner will play the part of Jonathan Kent. Adams will star opposite Henry Cavill as Clark Kent himself and it will be interesting to see the on screen romance blossom. This marks another step in the right direction for Adams, who is coming off the back of an Oscar nomination for 'The Fighter'.

It seems many young actors and actresses are simply coming up out of nowhere these days. Even Superman will be played by a fairly unknown actor in the form of Henry Cavill and we have seen similar situations with 'Thor', which is set for release in April this year, in which the relatively unknown Chris Hemsworth was cast as the leading man. Another similarly swift rise to fame was evident with Andrew Garfield who now seems to be cast in everything. We'll see if this will happen to Amy Adams but it's beginning to look likely that the 36 year old will be gracing our screens much more often.

Kevin Costner to play Jonathan Kent in new Superman Flick

Kevin Costner, star of such films as 'Dances With Wolves' and 'The Company Men' has been confirmed to play the adoptive father of Clark Kent (Superman) in the new movie set to be released in 2012. The film also features relative new kid on the block Henry Cavill as the main man and is rumored to contain Viggo Mortensen although this has not yet been confirmed.

How about the inclusion of Costner huh? He is an absolutely perfect pick for a superhero film in a father role. It is actually surprising he hasn't been thought of for a role such as this before. I am certain he will have success with this movie. The movie itself sounds as if it will be a fresh addition to the franchise, apparently having little to do with the previous films. I think this will be one of the reasons that this film does well upon its release. Without a well known front man the film has caught a big break with Kevin Costner and will without doubt benefit from his inclusion.
